We gladly accept anyone on our trips who is a member of (or has a close connection with) the Free Reformed Churches of Australia. Most trips have limited numbers so please email us early if you are interested in joining us.
Although there are numerous 4WD clubs in our area, they generally organise many of their trips on a Sunday, which the Lord has instituted as a day of rest. Their constitutions and memberships also leave us with doubts as to their suitability for our members.
Yet, there are many Church members who wish to join a group when 4WDing and camping. So hopefully we can help to fill that gap.
We expect a standard level of behaviour that is fitting of one's membership of the Church.
The basic rules are no swearing, no drinking at all while driving, join in upbuilding conversations and participate in enjoying God's Creation while having fun.
This applies to the entire trip, including rest stops. It applies to our CB chatter as much as personal interactions.
More specific trip information and convoy procedures can be found elsewhere on this website.
We have decided at this stage not to form an official club, with meetings, constitutions and memberships.
Instead we have chosen to form a loosely bound group of likeminded people who have an interest in 4WDing and camping.
There is also another group in Perth (yes, you can click on the words "another group" to get to their website) that has a similar basis. Their Guiding Principles page (from the 'More Pages...' link) is also food for thought.
Of course, there is a downside to this: A formal club has the ability to negotiate group discounts on insurances and other similar benefits. We may decide to do this later. Let us know if you are interested.
