This was our first organised trip.
9 vehicles left from the Kelmscott Church grounds at 7.30am and headed off to Cervantes.
After a quick stop at the Pinnacles, we headed south, arriving in Lancelin at
tea time for a BBQ.
In July a few of us did a recce
trip to Dwellingup and found lots of mud so we organised a trip down there. But
by September most of the mud had disappeared so it turned out a bit tame.
Nevertheless an enjoyable day was had by all who attended. We finished the day
with what is now a tradition within our group: we all gathered at the home of
one of the participants for pizzas and a look at the photos!
This was our first overnight trip
on the Anzac day long weekend (Actually a Friday holiday). We picked up the
children from School at 3.00pm on Thursday and headed south. We camped at the
Heartbreak trail campsite. On Friday we explored Callcup Hill and the Yeagurup
Dunes. On Saturday we went to Black Point and Lake Jasper. Hungry Jacks in
Bunbury made our dinners and were home in time for the Sunday.
Mud was the feature of this day
trip. We also got the opportunity to show off our beautiful scenery to a couple
of overseas visitors.
This trip was done as a birthday
party for Dwayne 't Hart. We collected a number of boys from his class on
Friday after school and camped at the Tony's Bend overnight. The next day we
explored the Murray River and its surrounds. On the way home we had a bit of
car trouble, so a quick trip back into Dwellingup to ring Perth and get another
vehicle to take the children home. Thanks for your help, Jim!
Another successful day trip with
lots of mud and some good hill climbs. We (loosely) followed the trip notes
from the book "4WD Days out of Perth". We finished a bit early
(actually some of us chickened out of the really difficult bits) so we also
explored a section of track from the "Coalfields" trip out of the
book.
After collecting the children from
school again on a Friday afternoon, we camped just north of Lancelin. Overnight
it was a bit windy and a full moon so most of us didn't sleep much. We had a
leisurely breakfast and had the whole camp tidied up and ready to go by 7.30am!
Its interesting what that does to you. It feels like lunch time by mid morning
:-( After exploring Wedge Island and surrounding areas, we played in the dunes
around Lancelin till it was time to go home.
This was actually an extended
camping trip by David, Eric and our families. I've included it here because of
the photos that are in the gallery. Have a look there sometime and enjoy the
spectacular scenery.
A pleasant day out with a few good
hill climbs, soft sand, a bit of rain and lots of fun.
A trip done over the Easter break.
We left Friday afternoon. We camped out near Moore River and returned Saturday
afternoon. On Monday we went to White Hills south of Mandurah for a spot of
fishing.
The hills around Harvey provided
muddy challenges. The photos in the gallery are taken by 2 different
photographers and so may be out of chronological order. At the end of the day
we called past an old lime kiln located near the corner of the Old Bunbury Road
and the Coast Road.
A quick trip to Esperance by Eric
and Margrieta, calling in at Lillian Stokes Rock just east of Lake King,
Ravensthorpe, Fanny Cove, Esperance, Peak Charles NP and Hyden.
A 2 week camping holiday at Fanny
Cove.
The Monday of the long weekend saw 3
vehicles loaded with families take a day trip in the Wilbinga/Guilderton area. It
was a warm day. There are a few good sandy hill climbs and lots of tracks in
the area. The beach was very soft. We finished up having a late lunch and a
swim at Guilderton before heading back to Perth. What a fantastic spot for a
family day out.
